New tools for Blender

Blender users, we’re developing add-ons for you!

We’re posting them on the Rainbox Lab. website.

Already available are DuRPresets, to import and export render settings presets, and DuBlast which quickly renders and plays your animations (known as playblasts in Maya, but better).

We have a huge list of add-ons to develop, including Duik for Blender. Stay tuned!

Duik: The Source Code Book

The source code of Duik is available as a 650-page book!

This book contains the complete source code of Duik. It’s a manifesto for open source software. It’s a way to physically show how open source software is different from other software, to show and explain how important it is, how even this small free software may weigh to change the world. All of this is briefly explained in the preface by Duduf.

Master Properties in After Effects 2020 and Duik Bassel.2

After Effects 2020 has arrived, and Duduf has some good news about it!

In this new version, the Ae team focused on performance, and a lot of different tools have been improved. In turn, it improves the performance of Duik and the rigs made with it. But it’s not only a general gain of speed; I was able to implement an awesome new feature thanks to all of this, and it’s going to change a lot the way you can handle your character rigs and use them in different shots and animations.

Duik 16 will be called Bassel

As we’re near the public release of Duik 16, we’ve been thinking about giving it a name.
16 will stay the version number of Duik, but, at Rainbox, we wanted to drop this number and give it a name, because this is not just an incrementation of Duik, it’s been a complete re-writing of the code, everything has been re-thought and re-built for this version.
So we’re going to show this by giving it a name. Duik 16 will be called Duik Bassel, in memory of Bassel Khartabil Safadi, killed by the Syrian regime in 2015.
